Elko Lake (also known as North Pond) is a 70 acre non motor boat lake in Parksville NY. This lake was settled much later than others in the county, and the types of houses, (and lot sizes) reflect that.

Most homes sit on five acres or more, with a few on well over twenty acres. The houses have a tendency to be a bit more modern. You will not find any cute three season mid century cabins on Elko.

There is an optional homeowners association which gives you access to a nice sandy beach area, with picnic tables and tennis courts. There is also a boat launch for non lakefront owners.

On the south side of the lake, the area is a bit marshy, and some of the homes have a catwalk out to deeper waters. Elko is in Catskill State Park, so the land surrounding the lake is protected, and will more than likely remain unchanged in our lifetime.

Over the past twelve months, a few lakefront homes have sold on Elko for ten to fifteen percent less than other similar homes in the county, and there always seems to be a decent amount of inventory on this lake. This is an area where under the right circumstances, a good deal could be struck.
