Tennanah Lake is 280 acres, but is over two miles long, making it attractive to water skiing and personal water craft. (It is a lake that allows motorboats.) Formerly known as Long Pond in the early 1900's, people have been coming to this lake for summer fun and respite from the city heat for over a hundred years, (and the collection of homes around this lake shows that.) Homes around Tennanah range from small 1940 style cabins to grand contemporaries.
The lake is located just west of Roscoe, tucked away amongst the mountains, giving it an Adirondack feel. Homes range from 300K and up, and inventory on this lake can be scarce. If a lakefront comes on the market on this lake, it does not last very long.
There is a motel/inn at the far end of the lake. Also Tennanah Lake Golf Course is just minutes away. It is an eighteen hole course designed by PGA legend Sam Snead. Set on top of a Catskill mountain, it has thirty mile views. The clubhouse has recently been redone with a great dining room with indoor/outdoor seating.
